Jewelry Care

NINO SEPO jewelry is sculptural, hand-finished, and designed to be worn with intention. Thoughtful handling will protect its surface, shape, and finish and help each piece age beautifully.

Materials and finish

Our pieces are primarily made from brass with a gold-micron finish, polished surfaces, and—in selected designs—painted enamel. Small differences in color, shape, texture, or hand-finishing marks are part of the character of handmade jewelry and are not defects when they do not affect function.

Some pieces may contain low levels of nickel. Although our materials are selected with wearability in mind, no jewelry can be guaranteed suitable for every sensitivity. If you have a known metal allergy, seek medical advice before wear and stop wearing the item if irritation develops.

Everyday wear

  • Put jewelry on last, after perfume, cosmetics, hairspray, sunscreen, lotion, and other products have dried; remove it first when undressing.
  • Remove jewelry before bathing, showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, household work, or any activity involving impact, pressure, or repeated bending.
  • Keep pieces away from fresh water, salt water, chlorine, soap, sanitizer, cleaning products, and other chemicals.
  • Avoid prolonged heat, humidity, direct sunlight, and perspiration, which may accelerate changes in color or finish.
  • Do not stack heavy pieces together or allow hard surfaces to rub against one another.

Cleaning

Surface-clean your jewelry about once a month, or after wear when needed, using only a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Wipe gently without rubbing aggressively. For enamel, use a dry soft cloth only.

Do not soak the jewelry. Do not use baking soda, metal polish, abrasive cloths, household cleaners, alcohol, ultrasonic machines, steam cleaners, brushes, or chemical dips. These methods may remove or dull the finish and damage enamel.

Storage and travel

Store each piece separately in a dry place, ideally in its original NINO SEPO packaging or an individual soft compartment. Keep chains fastened to reduce tangling. For travel, use a rigid jewelry box or separate padded compartments and prevent heavy pieces from touching one another. Do not store jewelry in a humid bathroom or in direct sunlight.

Natural wear and color changes

Gold-toned finishes can gradually change with wear, friction, skin chemistry, moisture, and environmental exposure. Brass may also create temporary skin discoloration for some wearers; this is usually a surface reaction rather than an allergy. These changes are normal characteristics of the materials and are not automatically defects.

Shape and adjustment

NINO SEPO may be able to repair broken elements after assessment. Submit a request through the Contact page with your order details and clear photographs. Approved repairs normally take about 2 weeks after the item is received. The customer pays transport to us; NINO SEPO covers the approved repair work. Any return shipping or exceptional material cost will be confirmed before work begins.

Previous third-party work does not automatically remove your legal rights, but it may affect what can be repaired or whether later damage can be attributed to the original construction.

Safety

Jewelry may contain small parts and is not a toy. Keep it away from young children and pets. Heavy or oversized pieces should be worn only when comfortable and secure. Do not wear jewelry where it may catch on equipment or clothing. If you experience pain, swelling, rash, or another reaction, remove the item and seek appropriate medical advice.
